Silly conservatives, it's torture, not enhanced interrogation.

Political correctness cuts both ways. c:

Im assuming you are talking about the military for the "torture". The US military is not allowed to have any political affiliation, so it wouldn't be a conservative stand point.

One, the new torture was/is a conservative policy enacted by the military. And yes, it's torture. No cutesy quotes making it sound like alleged torture, none of that spinning it into "enhanced interrogation". It's called torture, because it is. If you were arrested by the police, would you want to be waterboarded? Torture, by the way, isn't even an effective means of gathering intelligence, but it's not like that matters to you. It's about revenge, not gathering intelligence.

Here's a few more examples of this phenomenon, from varying points in American History.

-"Freedom fries" instead of French fries. Same thing with "Freedom toast"
-To be retro (these changes were due to anti-German sentiment from the first World War), the change from "Frankfurter" to "hot dog". Likewise, the change from Sauerkraut to "liberty cabbage".
-"Pro-family" instead of anti-gay.
-"Welfare queens"
-"Offensive to Christians" instead of something or someone insufficiently fellating your personal faith.
-"Death tax" instead of estate tax.
-"Homicide bombing" when even the United States Military calls such attacks suicide bombings.

So, it's necessary to ask...are you opposed to political correctness, or do you just want to stop being called racist when you said something racist? c:

Correctness cuts both ways.

What if you're talking to someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas, like, maybe, a Jew?

I can't stand the silly liberals.  They drive me nuts.  I totally agree with about liberals.

But I feel that if people want to say Happy Holidays...they should have the right to say it (freedom of speech).  We have the freedom of speech to say Merry Christmas so I think it's only fair.  If we don't allow people to have their freedom of speech...we are no better than the liberals.

But I am with you.  I'm sick of liberals forcing their mindset on us.

I concur. By the way it wasn't atheists who started getting upset about the word 'Christmas', or the use of 'BC' and 'AD'. There's no more reason to be offended by that than by the names of the pagan gods in the months of the year and days of the week.

Silly idiot, christmas is actually a mix between Celtc, Germanic, and Roman pagan holidays traditions that the Catholic Church stole because they needed a winter holiday to replace those holidays with. We don't even know the time of year that Jeasus was born in.

Santa does not exist in the Holy Bible. We like to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ during Christmas because there was not an exact date given for it. Santa was actually a saint some time later and somehow got stuck to the holiday the Romans created for December 25th. Christmas is just a fun time to get together with family, celebrate Jesus, and exchange presents.

Tolerance and respect is not getting offended when people tell you merry christmas or happy hanaka or what have you. Ive seen many people get offended at not using the politically correct happy holidays, which is the point of this drawing. Who cares what you say. If you are offended by me saying merry christmas then you are the intolerant one, not me.

It's not that it's Politically correct, it's just that it's being tolerant. It's called respect.

And don't pin it on a group of people, Liberals. I say Happy Holidays, and I'm not liberal/conservative.
It's just people who are respectful. Don't drag a person's political views into something that has nothing to do with it.

If you're Christian or talking to a Christian, 'Merry Christmas' is appropriate. But if you're an atheist it seems objectifying to use someone elses holiday when talking to another non Christian.

Not everyone is a Christian (*gasp*), and there are many religious holidays that take place around the same time as Christmas. Saying "Happy Holidays" is a way of catching ALL of them, in case (reason forbid) the person being addressed is someone that doesn't celebrate Christmas.

I don't get why this is such a terrible thing...unless you're interested in a Christian theocracy...than I guess tolerance of differing beliefs would be an issue for you...

lol. no im not religious. I just think its stupid to not say Merry Christmas for fear of offending people. I really dont care what people celebrate just as long as they dont tell other people they cant express their beliefs.

Liberals are TOLERANT??!!?? Exactly what planet do you live on? They(liberals) are the most INTOLERANT people you'll ever meet! Case in point. When was the last time you saw a group of ignorant rednecks standing outside a health food store protesting against people's right to eat tofu? Obama supporters will have to THINK about that for awhile, but ,I'm sure the rest of you get what I'm saying. Anyway, I rally enjoyed your artwork. Thanks, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

hmm.. I always thought it was the liberals that pushed the PC-nonsense. I know conservatives do it to some extent as well, but I thought that it was more of the liberal way of thinking that caused some people to get angry if you wish them a merry christmas. I personally dont care what people wish me~
