Political correctness cuts both ways. c:
Here's a few more examples of this phenomenon, from varying points in American History.
-"Freedom fries" instead of French fries. Same thing with "Freedom toast"
-To be retro (these changes were due to anti-German sentiment from the first World War), the change from "Frankfurter" to "hot dog". Likewise, the change from Sauerkraut to "liberty cabbage".
-"Pro-family" instead of anti-gay.
-"Offensive to Christians" instead of something or someone insufficiently fellating your personal faith.
-"Death tax" instead of estate tax.
-"Homicide bombing" when even the United States Military calls such attacks suicide bombings.
So, it's necessary to ask...are you opposed to political correctness, or do you just want to stop being called racist when you said something racist? c:
Correctness cuts both ways.
I can't stand the silly liberals. They drive me nuts. I totally agree with about liberals.
But I feel that if people want to say Happy Holidays...they should have the right to say it (freedom of speech). We have the freedom of speech to say Merry Christmas so I think it's only fair. If we don't allow people to have their freedom of speech...we are no better than the liberals.
But I am with you. I'm sick of liberals forcing their mindset on us.
And don't pin it on a group of people, Liberals. I say Happy Holidays, and I'm not liberal/conservative.
It's just people who are respectful. Don't drag a person's political views into something that has nothing to do with it.
I don't get why this is such a terrible thing...unless you're interested in a Christian theocracy...than I guess tolerance of differing beliefs would be an issue for you...
